Trauma

Truauma is a fact of life. It doesn't have to be a life sentence.
--Peter Levine

Traumatic events are extraordinary, not because they occur rarely but rather because they overwhelm the ordinary adaptation to life.
--Judith Herman
Trauma And Recovery

Trauma shows up in our lives in a multitude of ways and affects us each uniquely. However, one thing trauma has in common with everyone is that it greatly impacts our nervous system and its ability to regulate. This dysregulation shows up as anxiety, rage, depression, difficulty sleeping, panic attacks, nightmares, and feeling disconnected from others and the world around you. Many believe they will never feel like themselves again, but what we are learning from the field of neuroscience is that our brains have the amazing ability to heal by rewiring itself to a state of wellbeing.

This is what RESILIENCE is all about!

Therapy can be used as a tool for resetting your nervous system back to a state of flow where you are functioning at your best. I am certified in the Trauma Resiliency Model and trained in EMDR, both models designed to directly work with your nervous system. The beauty of this work is that it does not require that you tell or retell your story. Your nervous system can lead you to a state of natural balance without all of the details.

Your body holds the wisdom it needs to heal.

I am here to help you tap in and listen to it.
