Perinatal Mental Health Specialist/Mind-Body Connection/Trauma

I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of California at Berkeley and I am Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Social Workers. Over my 17 years of experience as a social worker I have worked in schools, domestic violence shelters, medical clinics, community mental health agencies, and even abroad. Volunteering in Peru for 2 years taught me about the resiliency of the human spirit, not only by witnessing it in the children and families living in such poverty, but also experiencing it personally as I faced a world so different from my own. I’m grateful my path has led me to the mountains of North Carolina and to obtaining my LCSW, a role that allows me to integrate all I have learned and that continues to evolve as my knowledge expands.

In addition to my private practice I provide therapy and case management at Mahec OB/GYN Specialists as a Behavioral Health Therapist. I am a member of the Perinatal Mental Health Network (PEHN) in Asheville and Post Partum Support International, where I received a Certificate Training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. I am also certified in the Trauma Resiliency Model and have completed EMDR training.
